Materials We Use

We use ONLY 14k Gold Filled materials. From the beads, to the links, to the clasp, it's all Gold Filled. Our products are handmade with durable jewelry wire and 14k gold filled clasps and 14k gold filled extender chains to maintain shape, prevent stretching and allow for flexible sizing.  All of our beads are authentic durable stones or 14k gold filled, leaving them tarnish-resistant and low maintenance for wearer's convenience.    

Gold Filled is created by pressure bonding real gold to a base metal.  It is a high quality material at an affordable price.  Properties of Gold Filled are, non tarnish, hypoallergenic, durable and affordable. 

Gold Filled vs. Gold Plated

Gold plating is basically a miniscule layer of a gold “paint,” it does not have any considerable amount of gold within the total weight, it is simply “dipped”. Gold Plating will not stand up against water, heat or wear, over time. It will eventually tarnish or just flake off. Aside from this, a gold plated piece can also contain unknown metals that could be harmful for sensitive skin.

 A Gold Filled product contains at least 5% gold by weight.  The gold becomes one with the base metal, therefore it is impossible for it to flake off. 

In very rare and extreme circumstances, a gold fill can tarnish.  If exposed to very harsh chemicals like sulfide, damage can be done. It is best to remove all jewelry when entering a lab.
